PhD student in the School of Education, Mr Luthando Molefe has made it to the finals of the South African Heroes Awards (SAHA) for 2023 in the category: Youth Empowerment.
The awards celebrate ordinary South Africans who are doing extraordinary things to uplift their communities as well as their ethical behaviour and commitment to environmental sustainability. Participants (nominees) are chosen by those who benefit from the services rendered by these individuals or the participants can nominate themselves based on their work.
Molefe has received many accolades for academic excellence, community engagement and leadership.
’I am delighted that the work I do and have been doing over the years, as an individual and in collaboration with others in search of possibilities and solutions to improve lives does not go unnoticed,’ said Molefe. He added that this inspires him to carry on changing lives where he can and encouraged others to continue to support his work.
SAHA’s panel of judges selects the finalists in each category and members of the public vote to select the winner. To vote for Molefe, SMS SAHA LUTHANDO to 47439. Each SMS costs R3 and voters can vote as many times as they like. Voting closes at midnight on 31 August. The winners will be announced later this year at the annual SAHA Awards Ceremony in Johannesburg.
