A group of CE students participated in the Academic Festival held at Edgewood Campus on the 9th-11 November 2022. These students were part of the dance show, presented lesson plans, karaoke competition, poetry, sustainable fashion show and participated in the yoga demonstration.

Two students shared they experiences and stated:

“This was the highlight of my academic journey at the University, being part of the CE allowed me to meet a community of students that are like minded that share the same ethos and principles. The most amazing part of this was that I got to meet the Dean of Education and presented my lesson plan to my lecturers”

-Zamagcino Buthelezi (third year student)

“The past three days have contributed to my personal and academic development. I have gained a new community of students, who are now my family and this was an enriching experience. The highlight of this was being part of the sustainable fashion show, this allowed me to understand that materials like plastics can be reused and made into fashionable dresses. Working closely with Ms Mkhabela and Professor James was also a life changing experience for me and I have learnt a lot.”

-Mirriam Moloi (third year student)
