Master of Education student Mr Luthando Molefe has been named as one of the TOP 10 Outstanding Young Persons in South Africa for 2021 in the category: Academic Leadership and/or Accomplishment by Junior Chamber International South Africa Top Outstanding Young Persons (JCI SA TOYP).
JCI SA TOYP is a programme that acknowledges young people who excel in their chosen fields and exemplify the best attributes of the world’s youth as high performers in their areas of influence. By recognising these young people, the JCI encourages them and others to strive for excellence and continue to serve society with distinction. This is one way that JCI contributes to preparing future leaders who will create better societies and ultimately a better world.
Molefe was selected for his outstanding and exceptional work in academic excellence, community outreach and leadership in the various roles he performs.
All nominations were scrutinised and reviewed by a distinguished panel of judges in a rigorous process and in the final round of judging the public had the opportunity to contribute their voices to the selection of the 2021 JCI SA TOYP honourees.
‘I am ecstatic to have been named as one of the TOP 10 Outstanding Young Persons in the country for 2021 by JCI SA TOYP. This is a reward for many hours of hard work, dedication and perseverance that I have always invested in my work and other areas of interest over the years and through collaboration with others,’ he said. ‘I would like to take this opportunity to thank the University community at large and many other people who supported me by contributing their votes in a final round of the judging process,’ said Molefe.
JCI SA 2021 President Ms Silindile Mbaza congratulated Molefe: ‘On behalf of JCI SA, we would like to applaud and congratulate Mr Luthando Molefe on his selection as the JCI SA 2021 TOYP honouree. We are proud of the work he has done and continues to do.’
