CE – Staff programme

The purpose of the programme is to enhance capacity building of School of Education – UKZN staff to respond to regional sustainable development concerns and opportunities, and to the sustainable development goals. The regional sustainable development concerns include poverty, health, climate change, biodiversity loss, water security, gender equity, sustainable housing and cities, sustainable rural development and improved governance, etc. The opportunities for development and action includes, improving food security, saving and managing water resources better, implementing renewable energy, and creating more cohesive, equitable communities etc. All these concerns affect staff and our students and that of the southern African people. These concerns are critical for the youth of southern Africa. The programme directly addresses Goal 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals (ESDs): “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning for all”.
