Saturday the 24th of February 2018, the Edgewood Environmental Forum organisation was visited by Mrs Carol Vincent who is largely engaged with Environment for Sustainability in local communities and more widely nationally, she came to teach us on how to make a compost using natural materials and planting of the bag garden. She came with her gardener by a name of Simphiwe who took us through the whole process of making a compost and the bag garden. Dr Angela James (Academic Leader: Community Engagement) at the School of Education, Edgewood Campus was a part of these lessons. Some of the Biological Science for Educators students were invited since they are doing their garden project as the part of their module assessment. The gardener started with the process of making the compost using the material that they bring with them. Mrs. Vincent asked us to collect our own materials that was listed as follows:
- -Kitchen pills
- -Egg shales
- -Wooden ash
- -Dry grass and leaves
